Migrations
The time has come, that system that has been working hard, untouched and unloved for all these years has had it's day. It needs to be replaced, you have a business to run and the expertise that looked after the system has long left the company. You've been given the enviable job of sorting it out - what are you going to do?
At Old Oak we like a challenge, especially if it's old unloved computer kit. We understand that this system has done well but now it needs to be brought up to date with the least amount of problems for your business as possible.
So how does this work then?
We'll come and see you, and the equipment, discuss what is and what is not needed from the migration. It may be that all is needed is newer hardware and an update to the software (we may even be able to re-implement it if needs be).
Once we know what we are looking at We'll come to a clear understanding with you of what your expectations are from us, and what ours are from you - we'll document a plan of how we'll migrate with the least amount of disruption to your business. We can then continue to support the new infrastructure if needed or train your staff. We'll document what we have done for you as part of the migration.
So what sort of things can you maintain?
We are comfortable with pretty much any hardware and software from the last 25 years. Essentially, get in touch, and we'll see if we can help. If the box has a Sun Microsystems logo on it then we'll be especially happy.
